The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony begins.

Divine Liturgy

The Divine Liturgy service begins.

Sermon & Hymns

Sermon from the priest and hymns led by clergy and choir are sung with the congregation.

Procession & Brunch

The clergy and wedding party lead a procession outside, followed by a light brunch, hymns, and celebration.

Photography

Wedding party and family photos continue through the afternoon.

Dress Code & Guidelines

Men

  • White shirts and trousers are preferred.
  • No shorts or short-sleeved shirts.
  • Business casual or formal wear is also appropriate.
  • If you have a netsela (white shawl), please bring it.

Women

  • Dress modestly — long dresses or skirts.
  • Wear a netsela, headscarf, or shawl over your head and hair inside the church.

Church Guidelines

  • Please remove your shoes at the entrance.
  • Do not bring food or drink inside the church.
  • Silence your phone before entering.
  • Men and women are traditionally seated separately with men on the left and women on the right facing the altar.
  • The service is conducted in Ge'ez, Tigrinya, and English.
  • Please be respectful and reverent throughout.

A celebratory evening with dinner, hymns (mezmur), speeches, and joyful celebration.

The celebration draws to a close.
